According to a nationwide impact study conducted by Public/Private Ventures, a national respected research organization, the Big Brothers Big Sisters model of one-to-one mentoring was shown to have a direct, significant and measurable impact on the lives of children.

According to the research these findings are a powerful force in influencing children's behaviors because of the Big Brothers Big Sisters signature approach to mentoring.

The research found that the program offers a positive, broad-based program, "that focuses less on specific problems after they occur, and more on meeting youths' most basic developmental needs.
